BB Vesper

Great God who knowest all our needs,
Bless Thee our watch, and guard our sleep
Forgive our sins of thoughts and deeds
And in Thy peace Thy servants keep.

We thank Thee for the day that's done
We trust Thee for the days to be,
Thy Love we learn in Christ Thy Son,
O may we all Thy glory see!

Amen.

.thank God

one thing that i really thank God for is that He answered my prayer on sending a helper/partner to share my joys in serving the poor and needy.

he send my gf!

Hallelujah.
went to visit mdm oh yest.

my gf is really steady, she speaks dialect very very very very well. and due to this, i was able to know in a deeper level of some of mdm oh's worries.

u see, being a traditional chinese and all that, she and her siblings actually bought a 'place' at guang ming hill, so that when she passed on, her ashes will have a place. and it cost thousands of dollars.. talking about planning for one's death.. tis is the first time i hear about anything like that. my gf tot i am a moutain turtle. keke.

and this seems to be a barrier/obstacles for mdm oh to believe in Jesus.

we asked her if she did not buy this 'place', would she believe in Jesus? she says she just might.
well, as we sense that its not time we did not press on forcefully.
but anyway, i thank God for this revelation. i m sure she is not the only one who is trapped in this 'spiritual blindness' and its something to be aware of and prayer fight about.

thru-out the meeting, i asked God what his heart is about for mdm oh.

then a heard it.

He loves mdm oh. we are not the first christians to go to her, she used to has a neighbour who bring her to church for years.. and becos she was married ff, she moved away or something.. so no more. and then, God send us in..
well, it does says something about God's heart for her. if one day, we decided that we have no time for her. i am sure God will send someone else to her to reach her.
God just doesn't give up.
why should we?
--
Mdm Oh is 63 tis year.
never been to a school.
never work for a company her entire life.
stays at home all her life to help in chores.
can't speak english, barely any mandarin.
don't have 10 fingers. not have 10 toes, don have 2 legs,
can't sleep at night. insomia. high blood , high cholestrols.
stay alone. one room flat. rely on $30o plus every month to live on.
the only form of communication with the world is a phone that rings once in a while. a void deck to hang around with neighbours. and some ad hoc volunteer who comes once in a blue moon.
and of a cos a God that loves her and does not wan to give up on her.

why shud we.

Hallelujah.

the Fall of Babylon

i was reading Revelation 18 this morning: 18:2-3 :

"Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She become as home for demons and haunt for every unclean and detestable spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the nations have durnk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The king of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

i have lived and took part in tis babylonian system too of unfair wealth distribution, greed for more, living in the excessive luxury of life, etc.. and i do recognise the need to repent before the Lord for this.

about IRs

indeed, its interesting to see that during this major shake-up of the financial systems, that the builder of the IRs in Singapore are facing huge financial headaches. i confessed that i did not really think much about the IRs, but now i am impressed and am convicted to pray that the IRs won't happen towards the way of casinos. the other day, my gf was just telling me all the possible social ills that can results from gambling -->broken families, huge debts, sucides case.. etc.. Really, why should we invite more of these pains in? having a church, shopping centre, recreations space as a replacement really sounds like an awesome idea. :P

Demise of the Babylonian system

indeed, like what the word of God in Revelation tell us, the Babylonian system is going to be shaken and it will fall in its due time. what will be shaken will be shaken. and even as its happening, i am sure the Lord is going to bring us to the revelation of felt needs of people that are aorund us. be it financial, relationship or other personal needs,

more on the babylonian systems from a biblical standpoint and pratical things that we can do and fight for in the spirtual realms in some later posts.

Answering felt needs - the true Revival

for now, i pray that we will follow the model of the believers in the Early Church as accordance to Acts 4:32-35 :

" All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions were his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There was no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or house sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need."

I think the time has come when we really open our eyes and serve and love the people around us.

one of my brother suggests that even as recession is here, revival is here too. what's need to be revive? i think, Revival is not merely the salvation of souls, but its the transformation of hearts that out of the love for God, we love our neighbour as ourselves.

Praise God for a time such as this.

Prayer Group @ Suntec

Praise God.

God has been calling His people to raise up prayer points all over the marketplace. And since i got the call earlier this year, i have been praying that God will help me start one .

in the end, i din managed to start one but instead i found one at Suntec. my Pastor's fiance saw me the other day at church and told me there's one going on at suntec.

so story is , i contacted the leader. she happened to be my nanjing qqs leader that i get to know earlier this year. trip was postpned due to olympics. but anyway, i attended the my first prayer grp in Suntec today. and its awesome. relieft that i am finally joining hands with God's people in the marketplace after so long. when i was at HWA, we do have a prayer grp. but eversince i got into the pushcart biz, there is none.

althought the grp is a mixture of different job professionals, it really doesn't matter for now, as we are praying for individual needs, or the area that we work in, and of cos for Singapore.

the first thing that i realise is the spiritual awareness that i got after it. more aware of what's happening around, and more alert. can't explain detaily for now.

but God did send a former pushcart neighbour my way today, and she has some needs that i can keep in prayer or help bless her in.. so in a way, i am really excited about what God is doing in the area.

But my main prayer is still to find retail line Christians in my work area, so that we can intercede more specifically for the retail biz. i believer that's where God has place me and that's my promised land to conquer for God. at least this is how i see it.

May the Lord shows the way.

it's exciting.

"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. "

- 2 Chronicles 7: 13-15

I am sure even as we gather at our own places, humble ourselves and seek the Lord during a time such as this, God will hear and heal our land. May He show us the needs of the people around us , so that we can be a blessings to them.
my pastor is helping to co-ordinate the prayer points around, and areas like City Hall (Suntec), Raffles Place, Tanjong Pagar, Orchard / Somerset, HarbourFront and Toa Payoh North already have on-goings prayer grp on Wednesdays lunchtime. if u do know of any bros or sisters interested to participate, i can pass them the info. i pray that God will help you to start/find a prayer point in your workplace too.

Amen and God Bless you!

Community living

Bro Melvin came by to teach our boys on the life skills topic on community service living. i tot he is really a steady speaker. learnt much from him over the times that i have the opportunity to see him in action. Thank God for a brother like him. Anyway, i did learn something new and simple, and easy to remmeber, and good be aware of.

We all live in the community of:

1) Family : the people who are the MOST important in my life.

2) Friends: the people who i spent the most Time with.

3) Fraternity( a group of people): People who needs the most Help e.g those in Homes, the physically challenged, orphans.. poor and needy.. etc..

Looking at the above list, it helps me to understand the special uniqueness of each group and thus, helps me to understand how i can better serve them. how i can allocate my priorities and attidtude towards them.. how i can live my life with more awareness. how i can be an better instrument for God to use in the relationships that i am involved in.
