A call for repentance

Remember David N? my HWA fren who is physically challenged. Months ago, he was caught and put in a home for a month. He was released back to stay in his own house, and is under probation for a year.

Ever since then, the Lord has kept me visiting him monthly alongside my girl-fren. All has been well with him, and he has been going for physiotherapist at SPD. Pls keep in prayer for David to be willing and able to keepgoing for the therapy. according to my knowledge. though it rarely improves a severely disabled person 's condition, it helps to maintain where he is right now. only long ansd sustained treatment helps to improve gradually. Of cos there's a a greater element of God's healing hand that we need to believe and pray for too.

Pray also that the Lord send financial help to maintain his living expenses and to go for therapy. each session cost him $8.60 . and this is after heavy subsidies. this includes 2 way transportation and the therapy session.

he has no income, except some fiancial help from his local constituent and some charity, and those contributions are good for his meals and living expenses only.

with lack of therapy, his condition will only deteroriate. pray for strength in his bones and heart.
We thank God for his determination to live on.

Something happened
Today, i received an SMS from David N. in it, he mentioned that he got beaten up by someone.

Sensing the urgency, i went to find him after work with my gf.

1) apparently, due to some conflict with someone at a mrt station, he was wrestled down from his wheelchair, being punched repeatedly.

2) station master came and intervene but claim that he was not being assaulted, and David N thinks that station master is siding with the assaulter..

3) police came, but have no video footage of incident and cannot substantiate his claims

4) David went to see doctor and has medical evidence of being assaulted with the brusises on his face.

5) DAvid was upset, with the injustice, and the unfairness. confronted the assaulter, call the police again. police suggest mediation today.

Investigation is on-going, results awaits.

David was bullied by someone who is stronger than him. David was angry. David was hurt.

this is the situation revealed to us.

There are a lot of hurts in David's life. He's angry about how things just did not fall right for him , that ppl insulted him for his disability, for his lack.

He's hurt deep.

God knows and God cares.

God uses my girlfren in an awesome way, when He uses her to release the word of God. God wants to heal David heart, to ask him to release forgiveness to the people who has hurt him, and mistreated him.

A Call for Repentance
But it seems that God also call for repentance.. under the Holy Spirit's leading, my gf was impressed to seek repentance n forgiveness from DAvid:

that we abled-bodied man need to repent of how we treat our fellow bros and sisters who are physically challenged. and that we ask for forgiveness. we need also to repent for the social service agencies and the gar-men whom has somehow neglected their needs and not look after their needs well.

(in the future, probably someone will do it on a coporate level ba)

the stories that i heard from DAvid over the past few months on how he has been treated unjustly, unfairly, in the public really shows the magnitude of the lack of graciousness and public education to living and integrating with the people who are challenged physically/mentally/socially..

yes, i agree that there's a place where God wants to work on the individual level, there's something that God wants to change in David's live, some character flaws, some heart transformation yes.. and we praise God for his work.

But on the public level, i really pray that God's transfomation will continue to work, and may the government really look into the welfare of its ppl, esp those who are down and out, who are helpless and hapless. law is impt.

but there can be law with compassion.

and love.

Dear Lord, i repent, i repent for not always treating my fellow brothers and sisters who are physically/mentally/intellectually challenged well. i have not treat them on the same level as that of an abled-bodied persons. i am short-sighted, i am insensitive, i am careless, i am inconsiderate. i am so sorry. Lord, forgive me for i have not been loving towards them. Dear Lord, you are a good God, you created each of us, fearfully and wonderfully, each of us is precious in your sight. and all of us are equal before you. who am i to think i am better than any of them in any way.. O Lord, help me to see as you see, feel as you feel. continue to work your will thru me Lord. Thank you in Jesus name. Amen!
